Each up-and-coming talent, selected through a nationwide search of comedy clubs and festivals, will star in his or her own half-hour comedy special. The artists were chosen for their outstanding wit and unique styles, as well as for their potential to launch their own series. Christa Miller is leaving after the second episode in the fall, to be replaced by Cynthia Watros as the new female lead. Watros' character, who begins working as a waitress at the Warsaw Bar due to Drew's arrangements, has had a crush on Carey since high school. ``Drew's relationship with Alison is like being each other's gay best friend ... though neither party is gay - not that there's anything wrong with that,'' said Carey, the show's star, executive producer and co-creator, to the Hollywood Reporter.
