I WANT MY H.Y.P.E. TV: Coming next year to a cable system near you is H.Y.P.E. TV, short for Hot Young People's Entertainment. The subscriber-supported channel, announced Monday, will focus on hip-hop culture through unedited music videos, movies, fashion, public affairs Those public information, command information, and community relations activities directed toward both the external and internal publics with interest in the Department of Defense. Also called PA. See also command information; community relations; public information.  and original programming. It is being developed by founder Peter Griffith, who previously developed a hip-hop Web site known for exclusive sales of P. Diddy's Sean Jean clothing line, and ex-MTV Networks executive Tracy Lawrence. While it will not be for everyone, H.Y.P.E. seems to be an idea whose time has come. The core 18- to 34-year-old audience grew up on hip-hop and rap and is coming into its big-spending years. In the week of Oct. 8, every title in the Top 10 Singles on Billboard's chart was hip-hop music.
