'FREAKY FILET' AT TAIX: Meanwhile, close to downtown L.A., Taix French Restaurant, 1911 Sunset Blvd., is calling its four-course Halloween steak dinner ($13.95) a ``Freaky Filet Mignon,'' while it plans for its 75th anniversary special, a roast chicken dinner for 75 cents from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 24

No reservations will be accepted for this dinner, to be sold at the same price as the booth-served, Taix chicken dinner in 1927.

PINOT AND PATINA HOMECOMING: Alumni of Patina and Pinot Bistro are all over the place.

Joachim and Christine Splichal's Pinot Bistro, 12969 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, recently brought alums Michael Wilson (chef-owner of 5 Dudley in Venice), Josiah Citrin (chef-owner of Cafe Melisse in Valencia and Melisse in Santa Monica), Suzanne Goin (chef-owner of Lucques in West Hollywood) and Sean Knight (chef at Pinot Blanc, St. Helena), back to cook a 10th anniversary dinner.

And ex-Patina chefs Roberto Argentina, David Myers and his wife Michelle are readying their own restaurants to open Tuesday. Argentina's is the Farm and Artisan Foods, a combo restaurant and food shop feature locally grown produce and cheeses in Redlands. The Myers spouse-chefs' endeavor is known as Sona and is on La Cienega Boulevard La Cienega Boulevard is a major north/south arterial road that runs from El Segundo Boulevard in El Segundo, California on the south to its end on the Sunset Strip/Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.  in West Hollywood.
