SMALL BITES PETIT OWNER HAS BIG PLANS.

Byline: - Larry Lipson

Jacques Lachkar, whose brothers run Le Petit Bistro in Sherman Oaks, is in the process of buying August Chris Cafe, 13456 Ventura Blvd., also in Sherman Oaks and previously known as Paul's Cafe.

Lachkar said he intends to call it Le Petit Jacques and will put chef Grey Meyers in charge of the typical bistro French kitchen.

If the sale proceeds smoothly, a late-April/early-May opening is possible.

Lachkar said he'll have a $2 soup or salad (with entree) policy and charge $5 corkage at his new restaurant.
