SKYWEST INC. REPORTS RECORD FIRST QUARTER RESULTS

 ST. GEORGE, Utah, July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW) today reported record operating revenues, net income and earnings per common share for the quarter ended June 30, 1993.
 Operating revenues increased 14.5 percent to $40,372,000 for the quarter ended June 30, 1993, from $35,250,000 for the comparable period last year. Net income increased to $2,852,000, or $.34 per common share, for the three months ended June 30, 1993, compared to $1,647,000, or $.21 per common share, for the same three months of the previous year.
 Commenting on the results, Bradford R. Rich, senior vice president- finance, chief financial officer and treasurer, said, "Improved resource utilization and unit cost reductions are the primary components of our success during the past quarter. We are also pleased with the continuing financial success of our scenic tour operations and remain very optimistic concerning the contributions of recently acquired Scenic Airlines. In addition, we completed a successful secondary public stock offering and are very well positioned to capitalize on future opportunities."
 SkyWest is the holding company for SkyWest Airlines Inc., Aviation Services West Inc. and National Parks Transportation Inc. SkyWest Airlines Inc. operates as The Delta Connection, offering scheduled air service to 42 cities in eight western states, including Delta hubs in Salt Lake City and Los Angeles.
