 SKYPIX & MCI CONNECT
/ADVANCE/ NEW YORK, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyPix, the new digital

satellite broadcasting service, and MCI Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: MCIC) announced today they have signed a five year, $5.1 million agreement for MCI 800 service that will link SkyPix users to its customers service center.
SkyPix is introducing digital satellite broadcasting to homes throughout the United States and Canada, with 80 channels of movies, entertainment and sports specials, superstations and news. The equipment to receive SkyPix consists of a receiver, remote control and a small satellite antenna.
As SkyPix president, Rick Selvage points out, "There's no looking up the customer service number and talking to a machine. No being put on terminal hold. 2,000 live and trained customer service representatives are ready to receive your call. And, when they are on the line and ready to talk -- an appropriate message on your television screen will say so."
"MCI is providing SkyPix with a complementary digital telephone network that completes the loop in our digital customer service chain. Our agreement with MCI helps ensure consistent quality and consumer satisfaction," said Selvage.
In addition to completing the customer service link, MCI will provide communications among SkyPix offices in New York, Illinois, Indiana, Washington and the newly outfitted SkyPix Satellite Broadcast Center in Oxford, Conn. The MCI agreement also provides for transmissions of television superstations from across the country for broadcast over the SkyPix system.
MCI Communications, with 1991 revenue of approximately $8.4 billion, is the second-largest long-distance provider in the United States and supplies a full range of voice and data telecommunications services to business, residential customers and government agencies worldwide. The company is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
