SKY LATIN AMERICA SKY Latin America refers to two closely related pay-TV providers, one based in Mexico, the other in Brazil.

The Mexican company was founded in mid-1996, a joint venture between British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB), News Corporation, Liberty Media and Grupo Televisa.

(NYSE: TEO, Buenos Aires Stock Exchange:TECO2) is the major local telephone company for the northern part of Argentina, including half of the city of Buenos Aires. Briefly known as Sociedad Licenciataria Norte S.A.  to bring direct-to-home satellite television service to Argentina The two companies plan to spend at least US$120 million to launch a joint venture called Sky Argentina. The new company will build a broadcast center and hire 180 people over the next year to transmit To send data over a communications line.
