SK TECHNOLOGIES AND ATV VARSERV SIGN DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT

SK TECHNOLOGIES AND ATV VARSERV SIGN DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT
BOCA RATON, Fla., Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- SK Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: SKTC) today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with ATV VarServ, Inc., a privately held Cleveland, Ohio-based computer and systems integration firm. ATV VarServ is the largest distributor of NCR 705X point-of-sale (POS) systems and NCR personal computers for retail applications.
Under the terms of the agreement, ATV VarServ will serve as the exclusive distributor for SK's StoreKare software in conjunction with SK Technologies' recently signed joint marketing agreement with NCR Corporation and SK's appointment as an approved "NCR Solutions Partner." ATV VarServ has also agreed to make StoreKare the sole POS software product it will offer to small and medium-sized retailers. As part of the agreement, SK Technologies and ATV VarServ will also engage in a joint marketing and joint advertising program directed at both NCR dealers and end-users.
In making the announcement, Randy S. Selman, chairman of SK Technologies, noted that the agreement with ATV VarServ represents more than just the distribution of SK's StoreKare software. "In addition to distributing StoreKare for sales involving NCR hardware solutions, including sales made by NCR's corporate sales force and individual NCR dealers," said Selman, "ATV will also train NCR dealers to sell StoreKare. As such, ATV will be actively marketing StoreKare to NCR dealers as a retail point-of-sale solution for small and medium-sized retailers. Most importantly, since ATV is the largest provider of retail solutions for NCR, it is clear they understand what retailers want and how to package the best solution. In essence, ATV's efforts will ultimately form the basis for a significant portion of sales of StoreKare made in conjunction with sales of NCR hardware solutions."
Originally founded in 1980, ATV's primary business is the wholesale distribution of NCR personal computer (PC) systems throughout the United States and Canada. Presently, ATV delivers more NCR PC systems to NCR Resellers than any other distributor in the world. ATV also distributes NCR Retail and Data Collection products. INC. magazine recently ranked ATV 135th among the country's top 500 fastest growing, privately held companies. ATV VarServ's dealer network currently consists of approximately 300 NCR dealers, and its total customer base presently exceeds 1200 customers.
Commenting also, Mr. Pat Smith, product manager at ATV VarServ, stated, "We are very happy to be working directly with SK Technologies. They clearly have developed the most comprehensive point-of-sale system available for small and medium-sized retailers. We are confident our dealer network will find StoreKare to be a benefit to their sales efforts."
SK Technologies' StoreKare software currently operates with NCR PCs coupled with "cash drawers" and NCR's 7052 point-of-sale (POS) hardware system. Compatibility with NCR's 7058 hardware system is expected during the spring of 1992.
SK Technologies Corporation is a leading developer and marketer of point-of-sale and data communications software specifically designed for use by retail and food operations, including fast food restaurants and apparel, discount, bicycle, greeting card and other general and specialty stores. In addition to selling direct to customers, SK markets the StoreKare system through an extensive network of over 300 dealers located in the United States and Canada.
