SIX FLAGS MAGIC MOUNTAIN PREPARES FOR HOLIDAY CROWD COASTER-RIDE SAFETY CHECKED DAILY AS THEME PARK BRACES FOR THE FOURTH.

VALENCIA - Days before one of the biggest theme-park weekends of the year, and in light of a malfunction at a Six Flags For the national flags of Texas, see .

Six Flags (NYSE: SIX) is the world's largest chain of amusement parks and theme parks and is headquartered in New York City. There are 20 such parks run by Six Flags.

, a spokeswoman for Six Flags Magic Mountain Six Flags Magic Mountain is an amusement park located just west of the Valencia neighborhood of Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles. It opened on Memorial Day weekend on May 29, 1971 as Magic Mountain, by the Newhall Land and Farming Company,[1] . ``Technical difficulties happen ... (but) our safety procedures are very exact in how we evacuate people.''

All rides at the Valencia theme park undergo daily safety checks, Carpenter said.

``Every ride goes through strenuous safety tests before the park is open. Before dawn we have safety people ... walking the tracks,'' she said.

``We don't have any rides anywhere near that ride,'' Carpenter said.
