SITTIN' PRETTY MOORPARK COLLEGE'S STADIUM GETS NEW SEATS.

MOORPARK - Fans will be sitting pretty this season in new silver and royal-blue aluminum seats that recently replaced the concrete-block ones in Moorpark College Moorpark College is a California-state funded community college located on a 134 acre (542,000 m²) property reclining on a hill in Moorpark, a town in Ventura County, California.  stadium as part of the stadium's renovation.

The $750,000 renovation, called Project 2000, will also include a new scoreboard, nine-lane all-weather track, gated entrance, ticket booth and dedication wall. ``This will help us get into the 21st century,'' Keever said. ``The all-weather track will be easier to maintain, will cut back on injuries and won't get muddy in the rain. It's just better for performance.''

 Jr., a Calabasas developer who built many of the homes surrounding the college and was on the college's foundation board in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The stadium was named after him when it was built in 1984.

To help raise money for the renovation the college is selling seats for $100 - and putting donors' names on mounted plates. The seats are $100 each. So far 100 of the 4,000 seats have been sold. The college is also selling engraved en·grave

Once the renovation is complete, the college plans to use the stadium for other community events, such as the Special Olympics Special Olympics

``I was there when the stadium was built, and later when the lights were put in,'' Griffin said. ``It was just natural for me to continue my involvement and help out with the seats. I believe in supporting the communities I build in.''
