The composer, five-time Academy Award nominee James Horner, auditioned some 30 singers early last year before calling upon 28-year-old Sissel (last name Kyrkjebo), who has released five albums in her native language in which she sings Nordic hymns, gospel and folk songs. ``He came across my latest Norwegian album and apparently liked my voice,'' said Sissel, who has been called a Nordic Enya. ``We met in L.A. and he told me the story of the movie. She also appears on the current Chieftains album. Horner had written each note out. ``He wanted to use my voice as an instrument,'' Sissel said. ``He had my voice in his head when he composed the music. Sissel said anticipation for the film was building at home in Norway, where the heavily Oscar-favored ``Titanic'' won't open until next month.
