SIOR members brand together at annual forecast.

 and president of the New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) announced the SIOR Kickoff Event was held Thursday evening, February 2, 2006, at The Palace in Somerset, New Jersey. The theme this year was "Brand Marketing in Real Estate".

David Harrison of IMRE IMRE - Institute of Materials Research and Engineering Communications, Beth Belkonen, VP of General Electric Real Estate, Richard Hollander, executive director SIOR Global and George Molloy, northeast regional director of SIOR, conducted formal presentations.

In attendance were over 200 real estate, business and finance executives from throughout the tri-state area.

Scott Peck, of Resource Realty of Northern NJ, had opening remarks, which included a thank you to past president W. Joshua Levering, recognition of the 2006 NJ SIOR Chapter Officers and announcement of the Annual Award winners.

Chapter officers include Chris Marx, SIOR as vice president, Greg Irving, SIOR as secretary and Tom Monahan, SIOR, as treasurer. Award winners included the Largest Lease by Mike Maroon, SIOR of the Acclaim Group for CanDo Fitness at Princeton Forrestal Village; Largest Sale by Milt Charbonneau, SIOR of Colliers Houston for the sale of Quakerbridge Plaza Office Park; Largest Build-to-Suit by Tom Monahan, SIOR of Colliers Houston for FedEx and; The Most Creative Deal Award was received by Tom Consiglio, SIOR & Scott Peck, SIOR of Resource Realty for a simultaneous lease and sale transaction of a 158,000 s/f building with an aggregate value greater than $20 million dollars, on behalf of First Industrial Realty Trust, Inc.

Peck also recognized the event's major sponsors which included; Panattoni Development, BFI Furniture, Normandy Real Estate Partners, The Walsh Company, Advance Realty, The Aztec Corporation, DP Partners, Federal Business Centers, First Industrial Realty Trust, The Heller Group, Matrix Development Group, Prologis, J.G. Petrucci Company and The Rockefeller Group. Brand Sponsors included Audi of Bernardsvitle, Bridgewater Marriot and Starbucks.

Peck said, "With the globalization of all our respective business activities, we understand the importance to be recognized locally, nationally and internationally. I really want to thank tonight's sponsors and guests, without their support events like this would not be possible. Obviously, all tonight's attendees are a testimony to our theme, Brand Marketing in Real Estate!"

"This is an exciting time for our commercial real estate brokerage business," Peck continued. "Being a member of SIOR, our members continue to have the 'Brand Recognition' of being the most professional and ethical brokers locally, nationally and internationally. In addition, SIOR has formed strategic alliances with many of the largest and most respected firms in the world, like our relationship with General Electric."

Chris Marx, the VP of SIOR in New Jersey commented, "We are grateful to have such exposure. Considering the support necessary to be successful in the commercial real estate brokerage business, SIOR continues to take advantage of many strategic alliances because our clients know they can expect more quality service from us!"
