SIOR's fall professional conference a record breaker.

The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) was host to almost 1100 attendees to the 2005 Fall Professional Conference held at the Fairmont Chicago, located in the central business district of downtown Chicago, Illinois, November 4-6.

SIOR President Kevin J. Crowley, SIOR said, "I believe it was the best conference in years.

"SIOR has gained tremendous momentum within the market place. The energy was apparent at the Chicago Conference.

"The keynote speaker Jason Jennings, [author of "Think Big Act Small, Less is More: How Great Companies Use Productivity As a Competitive Tool in Business, and It's Not The Big That Eat The Small-It's The Fast That Eat The Slow"] captured the crowds attention with his review of the five steps to success in today's business environment."

The four-day event was second in attendance to a prior conference held in Chicago in the late 90s.

There were many opportunities to meet with fellow industrial and office commercial brokers. In addition to an educational track providing state required CEUs, there were numerous breakout sessions and roundtable discussions. A new forum called Specialty Practice Boards (SPB) was offered on Sunday morning.

A SPB is an SIOR group composed of members who share knowledge of a specific area or practice. These groups will create an in-depth knowledge base and will foster long-term business relationships among SIOR members.

The SIOR 2006 Spring Convention will be held April 20-23, 2006 at the La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, CA.
