SIMON'S 'MEMOIRS' TO DEBUT MAY 27.Byline: Daily News NEWHALL - Neil Simon's coming-of-age tale ``Brighton Beach Brighton Beach is a community on Coney Island in the borough of Brooklyn in New York City. Memoirs'' will open May 27 at the Canyon Theatre Guild Theatre Guild U.S. theatrical society. Founded in New York City in 1918 by Lawrence Langner (1890–1962) and others, the group proposed to produce high-quality, noncommercial plays. in Newhall. Simon's semi-autobiographical tale tells the story of 15-year-old Eugene Jerome (played by Chris Schamber); his older brother, Stanley (Kevin Herrera); his hard-working father, Jack (Allan Trautman, understudied by Marty Gelfman); his sharp-tongued mother, Kate (Patti Finley); as well as his widowed Aunt Blanche (Lori D'Itri) and her two daughters (Danny Devan and Amber VanLoon). Typical of his age, young aspiring writer Eugene has two things on his mind - baseball and girls. What follows is a mix of boyhood fantasies and family observations as Eugene travels the rocky road from adolescence to adulthood. ``Brighton Beach Memoirs'' is the first in a trilogy A company founded in 1979 by Gene Amdahl to commercialize wafer scale integration and build supercomputers. It raised a quarter of a billion dollars, the largest startup funding in history, but could not create its 2.5" superchip. based on Simon's Brooklyn childhood and Army life before he achieved success as a writer. The other two plays in the trilogy are ``Biloxi Blues'' and ``Broadway Bound Broadway Bound is a play by Neil Simon. Last one in a series of three, together with the other autobiographical works (Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues), they make up the "Eugene Trilogy. .'' ``Brighton Beach Memoirs'' is considered by critics the best of the three - a nostalgic look at life in prewar pre·war adj.
