SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - City Councilwoman Sandi Webb on Tuesday blasted Ventura County supervisors' decision Monday to impose a library tax without giving taxpayers a chance to vote on it.

Regardless of how anyone feels about library funding, the supervisors should not be creating a new tax without voter approval, Webb said in a prepared statement. She said she will vigorously oppose Simi SIMI Sea Ice Mechanics Initiative

Council on Aging plans dance in Simi

SIMI VALLEY - The Simi Valley Council on Aging will hold a dance for seniors from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Senior Center at 3900 Avenida Simi.

Live music will be provided by the John Sherri Band, and refreshments re·fresh·ment

Woman's attacker sought by police

OXNARD - Oxnard police are seeking a man suspected of kidnapping kidnapping, in law, the taking away of a person by force, threat, or deceit, with intent to cause him to be detained against his will. Kidnapping may be done for ransom or for political or other purposes.  and assaulting a 22-year-old woman who escaped during the attack Tuesday night.

The victim reported that a stranger threatened her with a knife and forced her into a two-door sedan Sedan (sədäN`), town (1990 pop. 22,407), Ardennes dept., NE France, on the Meuse River. A noted textile center since the 16th cent., Sedan also has metal and brewing industries. The town became part of French crown lands in 1642.  about 10:30 p.m. in the 100 block of West Seventh Street. Police said the victim struggled to escape and suffered several small cuts before jumping from the moving vehicle.

The woman was treated at an Oxnard hospital. Police had not made any arrests as of Wednesday night.
