MOMS is an acronym for Moms Offering Moms Support. History MOMS Club was founded in 1983 by Mary James, a stay-at-home mother of two from California. will host a benefit from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Joe-Joe's Brewing Co. and Restaurant to raise money for Ajay Hill and his family. Hill, a 39-year-old construction worker who moved with his wife and infant daughter to Simi Valley in 1995, was diagnosed with brain cancer earlier this year. After he underwent brain surgery in May, members of Simi Valley MOMS, Moms Offering Moms Support, have delivered meals, bought groceries and helped baby-sit for the young family. Money raised in the benefit will go toward utilities and household expenses. Joe-Joe's is located at 1397 E.
