Children will learn how to work with and around wild animals WILD ANIMALS. Animals in a state of nature; animals ferae naturae. Vide Animals; Ferae naturae.  with an introduction to animal safety, feeding, cleaning and training.

The camp is from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Another camp is being offered Aug. 5-9.

Benefit planned for disabled vets

SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - A transportation benefit fund concert for Disabled American Veterans The Disabled American Veterans, or DAV, is an organization for disabled veterans that helps them and their families through various means. It currently has over 1.2 million members.

The DAV was controversial during the 2006 election cycle.
 Chapter 55 is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 4191 Cochran St.

Last year, the city of Simi Valley donated funds for a mini-bus to transport disabled vets, free of charge, to the region's veterans hospitals. Chapter 55 needs money to continue the program.

The event will feature a Joe Vento Big Band All-Star Concert with guest artists Al Wilson

Recreation evening coming for youths

MOORPARK - An evening trip to Golf `n' Stuff and Skating Plus is being offered from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 8.

The trip is for youths 11 to 17. Registration is $23, which includes transportation and park admission. Transportation will be provided from the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road.

The registration deadline is 6 p.m. Aug. 2. For more information or to register, call the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center, 531-9100.
