Silver Charm Silver Charm (born February 22 1994) is an American Champion Thoroughbred race horse.

"I'm thrilled to pieces," said Beverly Lewis, who raced Silver Charm with her late husband. "He's the horse that people just love. I'm just so happy that he's there where he belongs."

Racing from 1996 through 1999 for trainer Bob Baffert, Silver Charm was champion 3-year-old of 1997, won 12 of 24 starts and earned $6,944,369, still seventh on the career earnings list.

Silver Charm and jockey Gary Stevens finished second to Free House in the 1997 Santa Anita Derby but went on to nearly sweep the Triple Crown.

The Florida-bred son of Silver Buck won by a head over Captain Bodgit in the Kentucky Derby and Free House in the Preakness and led in the stretch at the Belmont Stakes only to be passed by Touch Gold.

At 4, Silver Charm defeated Swain by a nose in the Dubai World Cup The Dubai World Cup is a Thoroughbred horse race held annually since 1996 at the Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The race is operated through the Emirates Horse Racing Authority (EHRA) whose Chairman is Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, . Victories at his California base included Santa Anita's San Fernando Stakes, Strub Stakes and Goodwood Handicap.
