The Computer Animation Festival jury selected "The Cathedral" as the Best Animated Short and "The Deserter" for the Jury Award for their rich animation and extraordinary storytelling. "The Cathedral," produced by Platige Images from Warsaw, Poland, is the story of a pilgrim who arrives at the edge of the known world at the end of a long journey. The short is a richly textured, visually complex parable. A unanimous choice of the jury, "The Deserter" is a student film from Supinfocom in Valenciennes, France, about isolation and the human condition.
