SIEMENS STROMBERG-CARLSON INTRODUCES NATIONAL ISDN AND CENTREX TERMINALS

Desktop Terminals are User-Customizable for Flexibility
BOCA RATON, Fla., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- A new family of desktop terminals for use with Centrex and National ISDN-1 was announced today by Siemens Stromberg-Carlson. The Centrex set complements a whole range of EWSD(R) Centrex features, while the ISDN set works with any National ISDN-1 compatible central office switch.
The terminals feature a two-line LCD display that can provide incoming number identification, internal user-to-user messaging, and prompts for programming buttons.
 National ISDN-1 Compatibility, Flexibility
The Siemens Stromberg-Carlson 787 ISDN Set is fully compatible with National ISDN-1, offering simultaneous voice and data transmission directly to the desktop. By programming buttons for different combinations of line appearances, feature access keys and repertory dialing keys, users can configure the SSC787 to their specific needs. An optional 29-button expansion unit is available for the SSC787.
According to Ron Kandell, vice president of Product Line Management for Siemens Stromberg-Carlson, the SSC787 ISDN Set provides complete EKTS capability in an ISDN Centrex environment without the need for a key service unit (KSU), as well as high functionality for small or home businesses using ISDN.
 Centrex Set Upgradeable to ISDN
Siemens Stromberg-Carlson also announced its 781 Centrex Business Set designed to take advantage of all the Centrex features of the EWSD. The SSC781 is expandable, via a plug-in module, to National ISDN-1. Like the SSC787, the SSC781 provides programmable buttons and an optional 29-button expansion unit to meet the needs of even the most demanding Centrex customers.
The SSC781 is ideal for businesses with multiple locations within a campus environment. All locations can be networked through the EWSD digital switching system, thereby eliminating tie lines and expensive private lines to interconnect two or more systems.
