SI Luxury World Selects Barco for Its Digital Signage Network; Barco Supplies LED Display Solution for the Largest Privately Owned Signage Network in One City.


KORTRIJK, Belgium -- Barco today announced that SI Luxury World, an exclusive distributor of luxury goods in Azerbaijan, has selected Barco's large screen display solutions for a digital signage Digital signage is a form of out-of-home advertising in which content and messages displayed on an electronic screen, or digital sign, can be changed without modification to the physical sign, typically with the goal of delivering targeted messages to specific locations at  network of Light Emitting Diode See LED.  (LED) displays in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan. SI Luxury World uses the screens for city information, messaging and advertising. The network, operated by Sirius Hi-Tech, consists of seven outdoor LED displays and is the largest privately owned LED network installed in one city.

"We are very pleased with the Barco display solution, the hardware as well as the Signamics software," said Vagif Mirhasanov, general manager of Sirius Hi-Tech. "The LED screens have given a modern touch to the historic city of Baku. Based on the positive feedback from customers as well as advertisers, we are looking into further expansion of the network."

Currently, the digital signage network consists of seven Barco outdoor LED displays with a surface of 9.6 square yards each. The screens have been installed in some of the busiest areas in the center of Baku, a city with more than two million inhabitants

. Each display is integrated in specifically designed street furniture. SI Luxury World has confirmed the order for an eighth display measuring 28.8 square yards in size and based on Barco's SLite outdoor LED display solution, which has a 14-millimeter (mm) visual resolution. The LED and LCD displays are all connected to a privately owned high-speed fiber optic network. Barco's Signamics software for content scheduling and display management is used to dynamically update and schedule the content on the different displays from a central location at Hyatt Tower 3. The 24-hour control conducted by IP cameras ensures uninterrupted performance.
