LANCASTER - Cedar cedar, common name for a number of trees, mostly coniferous evergreens. The true cedars belong to the small genus Cedrus of the family Pinaceae (pine family).  Street Theatre will present two fairy tales This is a list of fairy tales, the dates of their earliest known printed version, the author and, if known, the collection of tales in which it was published. It should be noted, however, that not all stories listed below would be categorized as fairy tales by a strict definition  this weekend that will not only entertain patrons but also benefit Antelope Valley's disadvantaged.

With casts predominantly made up of youngsters, the stories of ``Rapunzel'' and ``The Princess and the Pea'' will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Black Box Theater For the theater in Oslo, Norway, see Black Box Teater.
The black box theater is a relatively recent innovation, consisting of a simple, somewhat unadorned performance space, usually a large square room with black walls and a flat floor.
 at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center A performing arts center, often abbreviated PAC, is a multi-use performance space that can be adapted for use by various types of the performing arts, including dance, music and theatre. , 750 W. Lancaster Blvd.

Admission is free with donation of a nonperishable food item for Grace Resource Center, a Lancaster food bank that helps needy need·y

``It's a good show, the kids have worked really hard,'' said Lisa Edmonds, director of ``The Princess and the Pea.'' ``There's a lot of, hopefully, surprises in there ... it will be really entertaining for the kids to come out and see.''

Because there are four shows, ``The Princess and the Pea'' major roles are shared by two young actors or actresses.

In ``The Princess and the Pea,'' the princess is portrayed by Karina McVeigh and Samantha Macisso, while the role of the prince is shared by Alan Tyson Alan Walker Tyson (October 27, 1926 – November 10, 2000) was a British musicologist who specialized in studies of the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. He was Senior Research Fellow at All Souls College, Oxford, and a Fellow of the British Academy.  and Eddie Campbell Eddie Campbell (born August 10 1955) is a Scottish comics artist and cartoonist who now lives in Australia. Probably best known as the illustrator and publisher of From Hell (written by Alan Moore), Campbell is also the creator of the semi-autobiographical Alec .

The other main roles in the ``Princess'' cast are: Katie Tyson as King Olaf, Christy chris·ty

 Savage as Queen Ulrika, Vivian Colin as the queen's helper, Kendra Berry as Gustav the troll, Holly Champagne as Osric, and Kira Marsh as the voice of the book.

In ``Rapunzel,'' the title role is played by Samantha Evans; Ryan Hanson is Prince Llewellyn; Nicole Moore is the witch; Tara McVeigh is Renee Shwartzbuckle, the mother; and Jon Muir is Walter Shwartzbuckle, the father.
