Back then, arcades used to be as common as drugstores, with shooters like the original 1987 ``R-Type'' cramping cramping see cramp. the fingers of gamers every day. For you older players, ``R-Type Final'' is the closest thing you can get to a time machine. I'd like to look at it as a pleasant (and humbling) reminder of a simpler time of gaming. Dodge, shoot, survive. People used to devote whole weekends to playing ``R-Type.'' Does this mean the time of shooters is ready for a rebirth? Not necessarily. I look back at the shooter era with a smile. It doesn't mean I think they'll dominate the market again. It just means I miss them a little. Like I miss arcades. Or the '80s. R-TYPE FINAL R-Type Final is a horizontally-scrolling shooter video game. R-Type Final was, according to Irem, the last R-Type game that would be made by them.
