SHOPKO STORES REPORTS OCTOBER SALES UP 5.2 PERCENT

 GREEN BAY, Wis., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- ShopKo Stores, Inc., (NYSE: SKO) reported sales for the four weeks ended Oct. 30, 1993, increased 5.2 percent to $121.9 million from $115.9 million during the same period last year. Comparable store sales decreased 0.4 percent.
 For the cumulative 39 weeks ended Oct. 30, 1993, total sales increased 1.4 percent to $1,150.3 million from $1,134.9 million for the same period last year. Comparable store sales for the cumulative 39 weeks ended Oct. 30, 1993, increased 0.5 percent from the same period last year.
 ShopKo Stores, Inc. is a leading regional retailer operating 117 stores in 15 states. The company has announced plans to build 37 new stores in 1994-1996.
