SHINDIG TO MARK GLENDALE'S 100TH BIRTHDAY CITY TO CELEBRATE WITH CENTENNIAL STREET PARTY.

GLENDALE - The city will celebrate its 100th birthday Saturday with a street party on Brand Boulevard complete with performances by singers and dance groups and the showing of documentaries at the Alex Theatre The Alex Theatre is a historic landmark located at 216 North Brand Boulevard in Glendale, California of the United States of America. It is currently owned by the City of Glendale and operated by the Alex Regional Theatre Board. .

Andy, a single-named singer of Persian and Armenian descent descent, in anthropology, method of classifying individuals in terms of their various kinship connections. Matrilineal and patrilineal descent refer to the mother's or father's sib (or other group), respectively.  and an international star with millions of album sales to his credit, will be the main performer. He recorded a pair of songs for the DreamWorks movie ``House of Sand and Fog,'' and his music was used in MTV's ``Real World.''

In recognizing the past and celebrating the heritage of the city of Glendale, we're celebrating the diversity we have and looking forward to a bright future for the city,'' Mayor Rafi Manoukian Rafi Manoukian is a former member of the city council in Glendale, California. He was recently notified that he has been selected by the Board of Directors and the Selection Committee of the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) as a recipient of the 2006 Ellis Island  said.

It's an efficient, well-run city with a diverse population.''

The event will also have free hot dogs and drinks and activities for children. The Alex Theatre will show the 1940 movie ``Glendale on Parade.''

The Centennial Street Party 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on Brand Boulevard between Broadway and California Avenue. If it rains, the celebration will be held in the Glendale Civic Auditorium at 1401 N. Verdugo Road.
