SHERATON MANHATTAN PREMIERES AFTER $47 MILLION RE-DO
NEW YORK, Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sheraton Manhattan

officially makes its debut tomorrow after completion of a $47 million renovation intended to reposition the hotel as one of New York's finest upscale corporate traveler hotels.
The Sheraton Manhattan, formerly called the Sheraton City Squire, is among a number of ITT Sheraton properties in North America and Hawaii that are currently undergoing renovation and construction projects totalling close to $1 billion.
In New York alone, the $47 million investment in the 650-room Sheraton Manhattan is just one of three ITT Sheraton hotels in which the company has invested a total of more than $300 million in recent months. ITT Sheraton reopened The St. Regis in September after a more than $100 million restoration of the historic hotel, and in the spring, the company will complete a $143 million renovation of the 1,800-room Sheraton New York (formerly the Sheraton Centre), located directly across the street from the Sheraton Manhattan on Seventh Avenue in midtown Manhattan.
Other ITT Sheraton properties currently under construction or renovation include the brand new Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, which will open on March 2; the Sheraton Centre Hotel & Towers in Toronto, the Sheraton Bal Harbor on Miami Beach; the Sheraton Palace in San Francisco; and the Princeville Hotel in Kauai.
This week, ITT Sheraton began a new advertising campaign that supports the $1 billion investment with a slogan that reads "We spent a billion to make you feel like a million."
The Sheraton Manhattan's renovation included a redesigned facade, lobby and reception area; new contemporary American restaurant, Bistro 790; new fitness club and refurbishment of the pool area; a business center; redesigned and expanded ballroom and conference rooms; and redesigned guest rooms.
ITT Sheraton, a subsidiary of ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT), is a worldwide network of nearly 450 owned, leased, managed and franchised properties operating in 62 countries.
