       SHELL OIL OFFERS $250 MILLION OF 6.00 PERCENT NOTES
    HOUSTON, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Shell Oil Company announced the offering on Jan. 8, 1992 of $250 million of 6.00 percent notes due Jan. 15, 1997.  The notes are priced at 99.575 and are not redeemable prior to maturity.
    The net proceeds from the sale of the notes offered will be used to refund a portion of the company's outstanding floating rate indebtedness.
    This issue has been made through Merrill Lynch & Co.
