SHE'S 'OUT OF CONTROL'.Byline: David Kronke Here's the movie tonight that should really be called ``A Glimpse of Hell.'' ``Spinning Out of Control'' stars Kathie Lee Gifford as Amanda Berkeley, a pampered pam·per tr.v. pam·pered, pam·per·ing, pam·pers 1. To treat with excessive indulgence: pampered their child. 2. , sociopathic so·ci·o·path n. One who is affected with a personality disorder marked by antisocial behavior. so star of a sappy sitcom whose booze- and-painkillers binge makes her even more unbearable than she was to begin with. Gifford, whose sense of humor Noun 1. sense of humor - the trait of appreciating (and being able to express) the humorous; "she didn't appreciate my humor"; "you can't survive in the army without a sense of humor" sense of humour, humor, humour has always been suspect, is game, and Howie Mandel as her manager actually attempts a credible performance, which serves as a drag on the humor, such as it is. But the script by Mark Solomon, complete with oversexed o·ver·sexed adj. Having or showing an excessive sexual appetite or interest in sex. starlets, gossip mongers and amoral a·mor·al adj. 1. Not admitting of moral distinctions or judgments; neither moral nor immoral. 2. Lacking moral sensibility; not caring about right and wrong. network executives, is the same old same old, and cluttered with tediously belabored scenes - even the hyperkinetically edited montages go on too long. Near the end, just when you think it couldn't get any worse, the film loses what little sense of humor it possessed, but there is at least one unintentionally amusing joke - the idea that a theatrical film script based on this story could sell for $2 million. ``SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL'' What: Comedy about a spoiled, unhinged actress's bad behavior.
