SHADOW NEWS MAKES NEWS WITH THE HIRING OF SMITH

RUTHERFORD, N.J., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- One of New York's most respected news voices is making news.
Catherine Smith, a 15-year veteran in America's No. 1 radio market, has been named news director of Shadow -- New York.
Smith brings experience from the ABC, NBC and RKO networks, as well as local stations WNBC, WOR, WMXV and WYNY, where she served as news director for six years. She will develop customized format-specific newscasts for stations in the New York market, beginning as afternoon drive news anchor on leading adult contemporary station WMXV (101.5). Long recognized as the premier traffic service, Shadow now also provides customized localized news, sports and weather reports to 40 broadcast stations nationwide. Although WMXV marks the New York debut of Shadow News, the service has enjoyed much success on prestigious radio stations in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco since last fall.
Shadow Broadcast Services currently provides live local information programming to more than 150 affiliates in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco/San Jose, Houston and Philadelphia where it operates under the name Express Broadcast Services.
Shadow/Express now serves some 29.5 million radio listeners and television viewers every day and affords advertisers a creative, effective marketing tool.
