K-Swiss Earnings: K-Swiss Inc. saw increased sales in 2005, but its fourth quarter earnings fell 26 percent because of a one-time tax benefit in fourth quarter 2004. The Westlake Village-based athletic footwear company reported net earnings of $11.6 million, or $0.33 cents per share Cents per share

Park Purchase: PS Business Parks, Inc., an equity real estate investment trust in Glendale, acquired WesTech Business Park for about $69.6 million. WesTech, in Silver Spring, Md. is a 366,000-square-foot facility. Kaiser Permanente Kaiser Permanente is an integrated managed care organization, based in Oakland, California, founded in 1945 by industrialist Henry J. Kaiser and physician Sidney R. Garfield.  is their largest client, occupying 43 percent of the total square footage. WesTech is 95 percent occupied with 16 other tenants leasing properties from 2,000 square feet to 26,200 square feet.

Easton Merge: Easton Sports Inc. and Riddell Bell Holdings have merged, forming Easton-Bell Sports Inc. The newly formed company will generate more than $600 million in annual revenues. Easton, based in Van Nuys, manufactures and markets baseball, softball, hockey and cycling equipment for professional athletes and enthusiasts. Riddell Bell, based in Dallas, develops helmets and related accessories. It is the National Football league's official helmet supplier. The company was formed in 2004 through the merger of Bell Sports Corp. and Riddell Sports Group. Jim Easton will be chairman of the combined company. The merger is expected to be completed later in this quarter.

CallSource Purchase: CallSource, a Westlake Village-based company that provides online call-tracking technology to companies in various industries, acquired Markette Systems in Washington, which offers similar technology. CallSource is looking to expand in the marine industry among other industries, and Markette's clients in the auto, marine and media sectors will widen its client base. CallSource will also offer Markette's basic call tracking technology to CallSource partners in order to serve the needs of smaller businesses. CallSource produces patented call-tracking software sold through a network of partners or "resellers". The software tracks incoming calls, and the data collected is used by clients to evaluate the effectiveness of advertising and to identify sales leads.

The partnership is purchasing the station from Sherman Oaks-based Radiovisa, pending approval by the Federal Communications Commission Federal Communications Commission (FCC), independent executive agency of the U.S. government established in 1934 to regulate interstate and foreign communications in the public interest. . Radiovisa is a radio company producing syndicated and network radio programming. "The acquisition of Radio 830 KMXE provides a new opportunity to bring play-to-play commentary and Angels game coverage to a large audience of Hispanic baseball fans," said Dennis Kuhl, a partner in the acquisition.
