PALMDALE Palmdale, city (1990 pop. 68,842), Los Angeles co., S Calif., in the irrigated Antelope Valley; a growing residential suburb of Los Angeles near Little Rock Creek where it forms Lake Palmdale Reservoir, inc. 1962.  - Registration has begun for seven Families in Action courses.

 and Out-of-Control Children; Love and Logic; Strengthening Stepfamilies; Cooperative Parenting and Divorce; 1, 2, 3, 4 Parents!; and Los Ninos NINOS Pediatrics A clinical trial–Neonatal Inhaled Nitric Oxide Study which evaluated the effect of NO therapy–NOT in hypoxic respiratory failure–HRF in neonates. . A Teen Guide to Choosing Success, Choosing Life will be taught from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays from last week through Jan. 27.

Parenting Skills for Parents with Strong-Willed or Out-of-Control Children will be taught on 10 consecutive Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 14 through March 17. The last four classes will end at 9 p.m.

Becoming a Love and Logic Parent will be taught from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, from Jan. 15 through Feb. 26. The course offers an approach to discipline that places the adult in control while placing the child in a thinking mode, organizers said. This class will also be offered from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays from Feb. 28 through April 10.

Strengthening Stepfamilies will be taught from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays from Jan. 22 through Feb. 19.

Cooperative Parenting and Divorce will be taught from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays from Jan. 26 through March 22. The course is designed to assist divorcing or divorced parents in reducing parental conflict and risk factors associated with the child's post-divorce adjustment.

1, 2, 3, 4 Parents! will be taught from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays from Jan. 26 through Feb. 9. The course is geared for parents of children ages 1 to 4. It teaches basic parenting skills.

Los Ninos Bien Educados will be taught on 10 consecutive Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m., Feb. 21 through April 17. The class is aimed at both parents and teachers, and teaches techniques to avoid the cycle of defiance Defiance, city (1990 pop. 16,768), seat of Defiance co., NW Ohio, at the confluence of the Auglaize and Maumee rivers, in a farm area; settled 1790, inc. 1836. Its manufactures include machinery and food, fabricated-metal, and glass products. Gen.  that can turn simple daily events into major power struggles, organizers said.

All Families in Action courses will be held in Palmdale.
