SERVICES PLANNED FOR TEEN ATHLETE : POLE VAULTER REMEMBERED.

A memorial service will be held today for Heath Taylor, the Hart High School Hart High School may refer to:
  • Hart High School — Newhall, California

  • Hart County High School — Hartwell, Georgia
 pole vaulter who died last week from a head injury suffered when he slid off the mat during track practice.

Taylor, 17, will be remembered during a 4 p.m. service at the Eternal Valley Memorial Park chapel, 23287 N. Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling  in Newhall.

Taylor lived in Valencia with his father and stepmother, Carl and Madonna Taylor. His mother and younger sister, Gail and Valerie Taylor

  • Valerie Taylor (novelist), Lesbian poet and novelist
  • Ron & Valerie Taylor, Australian shark and underwater expert.
, live in Camarillo.

The teen also is survived by Melanie Catalde, a sister who lives in Newhall, along with grandparents Ed and Barbara Taylor of Fillmore, maternal grandfather Walter Barker of Inyokern and paternal great-grandparents Ray and Peggy Vargas of Glendale.

Taylor died April 29 at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. He had just cleared a 10-foot pole vault pole vault

Family members, in an obituary message released by Eternal Valley, said: ``Heath loved a challenge and was a very determined young man. His relationship with his friends and family was more meaningful than he could have ever imagined. He was loved by everyone and always will be. We'll miss you, Heath.''
