SERVICE HELD FOR CHRISTMAS CAROL PRODUCER.Byline: Daily News Anne Burt, a longtime resident of Northridge who produced and promoted Christmas carols written by her husband, Alfred, has died after a long battle with cancer. After his death in 1954, she was instrumental in bringing to people throughout the world his songs, such as ``Caroling, Caroling,'' ``Some Children See Him'' and ``This is Christmas.'' Alfred Burt's work was recorded on holiday albums by many singers, including Tennessee Ernie Ford Ernest Jennings Ford (February 13, 1919 – October 17, 1991), better known by the stage name Tennessee Ernie Ford, was a pioneering U.S. recording artist and television host who enjoyed success in the country & western, pop, and gospel musical genres. , Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Andy Williams and Kenny Loggins. In 1963 Anne produced the Grammy nominated complete collection of the Alfred Burt Christmas Carols and re-released the original album in 1999 on a CD titled ``This is Christmas.'' She was a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, Inc. is known variously as The Recording Academy or NARAS. Established in 1957, The Recording Academy is a U.S. , the Gospel Music Association The Gospel Music Association (GMA) was founded in 1964 for the purpose of supporting and promoting the development of all forms of Gospel music. There are currently more than 4,200 members worldwide. and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. During World War II, Anne Burt served as a nurse in the medical corps of the Navy and was a singing Wave with various dance bands. She married Alfred Burt in 1945. She and Alfred had a daughter, Diane Bates Bates , Katherine Lee 1859-1929. American educator and writer best known for her poem "America the Beautiful," written in 1893 and revised in 1904 and 1911. Burt, but he died of lung cancer in 1954 when Diane was only 3 years old. Anne continued working as a nurse and eventually became the director of education for the Bryman Schools in Los Angeles. She planned Christmas programs for the past 20 years at the Hollygrove Children's Home, where Marilyn Monroe once lived in Hollywood. Anne Burt was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996 and died Nov. 30 of this year. A memorial service was held Dec. 7, and interment will be in Marquette, Mich., this summer.
