It was discovered in 1542 by Spanish explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, and eventually became part of the Rancho El Conejo land grant by residents by matching donor families and organizations with families who need food, clothing and toys. Usually the food and gifts are delivered in person a few days in advance of the holiday.
