SERKES PROMOTED TO DEPUTY TREASURER OF RJR NABISCO

 NEW YORK, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- RJR Nabisco, Inc. recently announced the promotion of Jeffrey D. Serkes to vice president and deputy treasurer.
 Serkes will report to John J. Delucca, who joined the company as senior vice president and treasurer in late September. Delucca was most recently managing director and chief financial officer of Hascoe Associates, a private holding company.
 "Jeff Serkes has been a key player in all of the company's major transactions since the LBO and this promotion is a recognition of his past accomplishments and ongoing contributions to RJR Nabisco," said Delucca. "He is a typical of the high level of treasury and financial expertise that I found here when I joined RJR Nabisco."
 Serkes had been vice president and assistant treasurer, corporate finance, since 1991. Serkes began his career in 1982 with Nabisco Brands, Inc. as a financial management trainee and subsequently as international finance analyst. In 1984, Serkes left Nabisco to join The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation and held the positions of international treasury associate and associate manager, foreign exchange, before returning to RJR Nabisco in 1987. From 1987 to 1991, Serkes held several positions with the company including manager, foreign exchange and director, capital markets.
 Serkes received his BBA in accounting from The George Washington University in 1980 and his MBA in finance from Rutgers University Graduate School of Management in 1981.
