SEPTA TO HOLD 'PUBLIC HANGING' THURSDAY

SEPTA TO HOLD 'PUBLIC HANGING' THURSDAY
 Date: Thursday, April 30
 Time: 10 a.m.
Place: In front of SEPTA General Offices, 714 Market St.,
 Philadelphia
Event: A well-earned public hanging. In a bus. Because he's
back. That ubiquitous man in the neck brace. The
fraudulent claims guy who has appeared in a series of
SEPTA anti-fraud messages. Now he's appearing in
SEPTA's newest car card, kicking off the latest phase
of SEPTA's public awareness campaign to reduce the
incidents of claims fraud. This bad guy is so good for
riders and all taxpayers that he's helped SEPTA cut
$8 million out of its next operating budget!
Begun in 1988, the campaign has achieved national
recognition and, coupled with SEPTA's aggressive policy
of prosecuting claims fraud, has reduced by 44 percent
the number of new claims filed against SEPTA since
 Fiscal Year 1988.
 Participating:
Michael Baylson, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of
 Pennsylvania; SEPTA Chairman J. Clayton Undercofler;
SEPTA General Manager Louis J. Gambaccini, and SEPTA
 General Counsel James Kilcur.
 CONTACT: SEPTA Press Relations, 215-580-7842.
