SEPTA R2 Warminster and R5 Lansdale-Doylestown Regional Rail Routes to Operate Through Service During Afternoon Rush Hour; Service Still Cancelled on R3 West Trenton line.
The outbound trains will not stop between the Fern Rock Transportation Center and Jenkintown Station. Shuttle buses, however, will operate between Fern Rock and Jenkintown.
Inbound (to Center City Philadelphia) trains on R2 Warminster and R5 Lansdale-Doylestown will operate to Jenkintown Station where riders will transfer to the shuttle buses to travel to Fern Rock.
The shuttle buses in service between Jenkintown and Fern Rock will make station stops at Melrose Park and Elkins Park en route. Riders can transfer to the Broad Street Line at Fern Rock to travel to Center City. SEPTA said that riders should expect delays and that some scheduled trains will be cancelled.
SEPTA also said that it will inform the news media and riders about the resumption of train service on the R3 West Trenton line as soon as possible. R3 West Trenton service has been cancelled since a CSX freight train derailed in the area near Neshaminy Falls this morning blocking SEPTA tracks there and damaging overhead power lines.
