SEMINOLE PIPELINE CO. PRESIDENT COMMENTS ON TEXAS RAILROAD COMMISSION'S
FINDINGS AS TO THE CAUSE OF EXPLOSION OUTSIDE BRENHAM, TEXAS
TULSA, Okla., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- S. Fred Isaacs, president of Seminole Pipeline Company, commenting today on the Texas Railroad Commission's findings as to the cause of an explosion outside Brenham, Texas on April 7, 1992, said, "We appreciate the Railroad Commission of Texas' commitment to expedite their findings and we share their desire to identify the cause of the explosion outside of Brenham, Texas on April 7, 1992."
"However, we believe that the commission's release of its findings today is premature in that investigations by the National Transportation Safety Board and Seminole Pipeline are ongoing. Many questions regarding the April 7 explosion remain unanswered at this time."
"Seminole Pipeline will continue to cooperate with the Railroad Commission of Texas and the National Transportation Safety Board. With regard to the re-permitting of the Brenham storage facility, we will fully comply with all commission rules and regulations prior to putting the facility back into operation."
"We are confident that the Seminole Pipeline System and the storage cavern at Brenham are safe."
