SELF MAGAZINE LINKS WITH CLARINS IN NEW PROGRAM FOR ADVERTISERS

NEW YORK, Nov. 23 ~PRNewswire~ -- In a new program which represents an unusual alliance between a magazine and a cosmetics manufacturer, Self magazine will provide in depth market research and sales training to Clarins. The project was announced today by Lawrence C. Burstein, publisher of Self.
Self's marketing staff will conduct a series of sessions with Clarins' regional training managers, providing them with information on the changing attitudes of American women, and skills for interpreting those changes at cosmetics counters.
The format of the sessions, to take place in January, will include sales training along with extensive use of Self's proprietary market research.
The Clarins project is part of the Self Image Institute, a newly created division of Self magazine. It provides the magazine's advertisers with a range of services including market consulting, training, and the creation of special advertising sections.
Said Burstein, "We are delighted that Clarins has asked us to share with its staff our knowledge of the changing attitudes of American women."
