 SELECT CASIO ORGANIZER ACHIEVES COMMUNICATIONS
 THROUGH AT&T EASYLINK SERVICES
PARSIPPANY, N.J., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time, Casio Inc.'s B.O.S.S. Model SF-9600 electronic organizer will have electronic mail capabilities by accessing AT&T EasyLink Services, both companies announced today.
"Our new AT&T EasyLink Communications Package will provide a low cost electronic mail solution for an entirely new segment of the market, and we look forward to participating with AT&T to develop this emerging channel," said Bruce Mendel, national accounts manager at Casio.
According to one labor study, more than 33 million workers spend significant amounts of their time travelling or outside of their office. Such workers would benefit from a communications-capable organizer as companies require sustained productivity from travelling employees.
"Mobile messaging is a key application desired by users of electronic organizers," said Don Casey, product manager for Portable Messaging, AT&T EasyLink Services. "The marketplace is looking for ways to keep mobile workers in touch with the office and we will be there with our comprehensive suite of services to meet that need."
With access to AT&T EasyLink Services, the SF-9600 model of the B.O.S.S. -- Business Organizer Schedule System -- will be able to:
-- Send and receive electronic mail
-- Send faxes through the EasyLink Services network
 -- Send telex messages
-- Send messages to alphanumeric pagers
The SF-9600 has 64K of memory. The special communications software card provides 32K of memory, or about 12 to 16 pages of data storage.
Also for the first time, three models in the B.O.S.S. line of organizers can now be purchased in AT&T Phone Centers. In addition to the SF-9600, the other models are the SF-5300 and the SF-R20. The software card and modem used for communications with the SF-9600 will appear in selected phone stores on or about Oct. 23.
