The Diamond Drop, part of the Child and Family Center's annual Taste of the Town fund-raiser, includes Yessayan's diamond donation, while Garo Papazian of Realty Executives is providing two cases of the famous bubbly.

``Diamonds are a woman's best friend,'' Papazian said. ``This is a wonderful community to raise kids. It's safe, it's convenient. And this event is for a really good cause.''

Only 200 glasses of champagne will be sold and Yessayan will be on hand with his scale and jeweler's loop to identify the real gem.

More than 30 restaurants will also participate in Taste of the Town, sponsored by Blue Barrel Disposal. An estimated 1,000 guests will enjoy wine, cuisine and a tour of the gardens.
