SECURITY ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS INC. OBTAINS EXTENSION ON LEASE/OPTION TO PURCHASE VERNON PROPERTY

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Security Environmental Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: SENV) (SES) reports the termination of an option agreement with Chambers Waste Systems of California Inc. ("Chambers"), made as of Feb. 14, 1992, pursuant to which SES granted Chambers an option to purchase the Vernon, Calif., property upon which its biomedical waste business is operated and from which its intra- and interstate waste hauling business is directed. Chambers failed to timely request an extension of the agreement. SES holds a lease, with an option to purchase the Vernon Property, which will expire on Jan. 31, 1994.
Stephen Grossman, the president of SES, stated, "SES currently holds operating permits to operate its businesses from the Vernon site. The leasehold is important to continuing our operating businesses in an uninterrupted manner. The remaining length of the lease, and the option to purchase, gives management time to assess the company's long-term real property needs in Southern California."
Security Environmental Systems Inc., is a 21-year-old company that sterilizes bio-medical wastes generated throughout California and hauls hazardous waste throughout the western and southern states.
