SECURITY ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS APPOINTS VICE PRESIDENT - GOVERNMENT SERVICES

 GARDEN GROVE, Calif., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Stephen I. Grossman, president of Security Environmental Systems (NASDAQ: SENV) announced today the appointment of Charles J. Askew as vice president - Government Services. Askew will be involved in the development of the company's rapidly growing hazardous waste pick up and removal services for the government sector. Askew will be responsible for the development of new contracts as well as supervision and maintenance of existing contracts.
 Askew was most recently associated with Laidlaw Environmental Services Inc. where he had responsibility for managing government contracts in excess of $12 million. Askew also helped in coordinating approval and disposal of waste in compliance with various agencies including, The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS), The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT).
 Prior to that, Askew served as a chemist with responsibility for the managing of numerous government contracts.
 Askew attended the University of Georgia in Athens, and will be operating out of the company's Garden Grove corporate facility.
 Grossman commented on the appointment saying, "We believe that there continues to be significant opportunities nationwide in the hazardous waste pick up and transport industries for the government sector. We will dedicate high-quality personnel such as Charles Askew, to the task of building this sector of our business as quickly as possible."
 Security Environmental Systems, founded in 1972, disposes of hazardous waste and conducts interstate transportation of hazardous waste. The company operates from facilities in Garden Grove, Vernon and Long Beach, Calif. Most recently, the company has moved its New Mexico operations to Roswell, N.M.
