To and partner Bryan Suh, JV players the week before the playoffs began, discovered just how much their No. 3 doubles win was worth when Granada Hills got by No. 2 Palisades Palisades, cliffs along the west bank of the Hudson River, NE N.J. and SE N.Y., extending from N of Jersey City, N.J., to the vicinity of Piermont, N.Y., with a general altitude of from 350 ft to 550 ft (107–168 m).  with a 16 1/2-13 victory in a City Section Championship semifinal Wednesday at Balboa Sports Complex.

In the day's other semifinal, No. 1 El Camino Real El Camino Real (Spanish for The Royal Road or The King's Highway) was the name of a series of pre-automobile highways linking the various New World colonies of Spain:

To and Suh were called up just before Granada Hills (11-4) beat Chatsworth in the quarterfinals last week.

Senior Phil Weisburd, the Highlanders' No. 1 singles player, gave the new players a pep talk/history lesson before Wednesday's match.

``I told them, for the seniors on the team it would be redemption,'' Weisburd said. ``We lost to Palisades in the semis last year.

The Highlanders barely lost to Palisades in 2003, after Weisburd dropped a set to Ben Tom. This time around, Weisburd came back from 5-1 to beat Tom, 7-6 (7-5).

Although Weisburd swept, Granada Hills couldn't have won without its doubles teams, which took seven of nine sets. Pongsal Arunrut and Daniel Lee Daniel Lee is a name shared by several notable individuals:

The Highlanders' victory set up the fourth City Section final in five years between El Camino Real and Granada Hills. El Camino, the City Champion four years running, has gotten the better of its West Valley League rival lately but Weisburd is undeterred undeterred
