SEC provides new toll-free information hotline.

The Securities and Exchange Commission initiated a toll-free information service to increase accessibility of its information resources (1) The data and information assets of an organization, department or unit. See data administration.

for investors and the general public.

By dialing 1-800-732-0330 callers learn how to order SEC investor protection brochures, investor alerts, information about the SEC's enforcement program and procedures for filing complaints. The service, available 24 hours, also tells how to obtain official company filings or to find out if a securities firm or professional has been the subject of disciplinary action.
