SEC bulletin addresses misstatements.


The SEC has released a Staff Accounting Bulletin providing guidance on how the effects of the carryover carryover n. in taxation accounting, using a tax year's deductions, business losses or credits to apply to the following year's tax return to reduce the tax liability. (See: carryback)  or reversal of prior year misstatements should be considered in quantifying a current year misstatement mis·state

In the bulletin, the SEC suggests that registrants quantify Quantify - A performance analysis tool from Pure Software.  errors using both a balance sheet and an income statement approach, and then evaluate whether either approach results in quantifying a material misstatement.
