SEAT Sport and PTC Expand Partnership for Racing Success; PTC(R) Product Development System helps SEAT's Motor Sport Division Win the Innovation Race with Successful WTTC Cars.

NEEDHAM, Mass. -- PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC) the Product Development Company(TM), today announced that SEAT Sport, the motor sport division of the Spanish car manufacturer SEAT, has renewed its partnership with PTC for the next three years. With the renewal, SEAT has also expanded its use of PTC solutions to include additional capabilities of the PTC Product Development System (PDS). PTC's PDS enables SEAT Sport to develop, simulate and optimize its SEAT Leon-based touring cars faster, as well as manage the growing volume of design data related to the whole car lifecycle more consistently. SEAT Sport and PTC have partnered since 2000 and strengthened their relationship in 2003, when SEAT Sport first entered the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC).

The deployment at SEAT Sport's R&D site near Barcelona (Spain) is comprised of Pro/ENGINEER(R), including Advanced Structural and Thermal Simulation(TM), Fatigue Advisor(TM) and the Expert Framework Extension(TM). With the new contract, the company expands the use of PTC solutions to Windchill ProjectLink(TM) and Windchill PDMLink(R), to allow SEAT Sport to take advantage of PTC's content and process management capabilities.

"The implementation of Windchill(R) enabled us to easily access and share all the information collected over the course of the entire development process - in design, production, testing, and even during the actual race, to make the necessary changes faster and more consistently."

SEAT started its activity in racing competition more than 30 years ago and has won many trophies and titles. This includes three consecutive titles at the World Rally Championships (WRC) in the 2-litre category, achieved with the Ibiza Kit Car. Since 2005, SEAT Sport has participated in the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) which succeeded the ETCC and consists of ten races in ten countries and three continents. The motor sport division won its first WTCC trophy in 2005, ranking third in the manufacturer's general classification.
