The tale, made into an Academy Award-winning 1962 movie starring Gregory Peck, centers around racial tension in a small Southern town in the 1930s, as narrated by attorney Atticus Finch's young daughter, Scout.

``The play follows the movie more than the book,'' said director Donna Jackson Donna Jackson is the name of a fictional character on the BBC television series Holby City. The three child stars are 11-year-old Sheri Doss as Scout, 11-year-old Ryan Westfall as her older brother, Jem, and 10-year-old Dustin Hayes as their friend Dill.

``These kids are great,'' Jackson said. ``They are easy to work with and the amount of professionalism they have at that age is incredible.''
