Huayucaltia is a five-member band that fuses Andean, Afro-Peruvian, jazz, classical and rock musical styles. When the Ford Amphitheatre was renovated 10 years ago, Huayucaltia opened that season as well. The Ford also offers a family program on Saturday mornings that is free for children and $4 for adults. ``We are dedicated to providing a place were families can take kids for a theater experience,'' said Martin Kagan, managing director. The Ford Amphitheatre is a 1,245-seat outdoor theater that dates back to 1920, when it was known as the Pilgrimage Theatre. The Brazilian theater group Pia Fraus Teatro of Sao Paulo will stage ``Farsa Quixotesca/The Farce of Quixote,'' a broad satire of the Don Quixote story June 14-16. The Compania Marta Carrasco will perform ``Mira'm,'' a theater-dance spectacle June 18-20. ``These performances mark the debut of the International Hispanic Theatre Festival in Los Angeles,'' explained Kagan. ``These companies from Brazil and Spain would not be seen in Los Angeles without the Ford's Latino Audience Initiative.'' Whittier-based Danza Floricanto will explore the Mexican-Filipino connection with Los Angeles' Kaymanan Ng Lahi on July 13-14.
