SDRC Receives Three Awards from the State of Ohio; SDRC Enjoys Status as a Top Performer, Top Exporter and Distinguished Employer.

SDRC (Nasdaq:SDRC), a leading global supplier of enterprise product development solutions and developer of I-DEAS(R) and Metaphase(R) Enterprise(TM) software, today announced the receipt of three awards from the State of Ohio. SDRC was recognized as one of the top 100 performing companies in Ohio and as one of the top exporters in Ohio. Additionally, the company was honored with the Ohio Cooperative Education Association (OCEA) Distinguished Employer Award.

SDRC ranked in the upper third of the top 100 performing companies in Ohio for 1998, as well as within the top 100 for overall market value. Nordby International Inc., a Boulder, Colo., research firm, gathered information on 216, publicly-traded Ohio companies for the Plain Dealer Top 100. For consideration, companies must have reported 1998 sales of at least $10 million. In addition, companies must have been public since December 31, 1996, and have had a positive net income in 1998 and 1997. The Plain Dealer attributes the leading companies' successes to their willingness to take risks to capture profits.

SDRC is recognized as one of the top exporters in Ohio and is a recipient of the Governor's Excellence in Exporting Award ("E" Award). In its 14th year, the Governor's Excellence in Exporting Award annually recognizes Ohio companies that have increased sales volume through exports, increased Ohio-based employment as a direct result of export activity, or developed and implemented a strategy to expand international sales.

For the second consecutive year, the Ohio Cooperative Education Association (OCEA) has recognized SDRC with its Distinguished Employer Award. OCEA presents their annual awards in recognition of companies who offer outstanding cooperative education opportunities to students at member colleges and universities. Companies are nominated by OCEA members and are evaluated according to specified criteria, which includes: history (number of years program has been in place), quality of student assignments (opportunities for students to increase responsibility and advancement), and internal support for the co-op program (administration, diversity and availability).
